Kennett Square

Select an Area

Located in the southwestern part of Chester County, Kennett Square is a charming town with wondeful shops and restaurants.  The downtown has changed over the last few years, I think due to the growth of new construction in the area.

You're now also into horse country in this part of the county.  There are many horse farms where you'll find horses used for family fun as well as serious show horses.  There's something for everyone.

Kennett Square is also known as the Mushroom Capitol of the World.  The downtown area of town is closed off in September of every year for the Mushroom Festival. Usually more festival than mushrooms, but a fun weekend anyway.

Longwood Gardens is also in Kennett Square. It was once the county estate of Pierre S. DuPont. Today it's a gardener's delight. You can visit the grounds daily and the planting are exquisite. The 3 1/2 acre heated conservatory has masses of plants in bloom. There are two lakes and fountains which are particularly attractive in the summer. The lighted fountain display is great.
