Home to the first shopping center in America, Suburban Square. It still exists today and has evolved into a very attractive shopping area complete with restaurants, Trader Joes, a great farmers market and the ever popular, Starbucks. Ther's an R5 train station right across the street.
Ardmore also has a downtown shopping area just a block from Suburban Square. There are shops, restaurants, the Jr. League of Philadelphia's Thrift shop, and a custom tailor just to name a few.
In real estate, you'll hear "North Side Ardmore". Translation: Here's where the big, old, beautiful, expensive stone homes are located.
Lower Merion High School is also in Admore.
