Wayne is in Delaware County. It is one of the few "walk around" towns along the Main Line. Remember that the term "Main Line" refers to the Main Line of the railroad from Philadelphia to Harrisburg. In the mid 1800's the railroad expanded west to Harrisburg.
Wayne was first called Louella after the daughters, Louisa and Ella, of a rich banker who wanted to create a community out of farmland.
Wayne has many things to offer to local residents. There's a train station (30 minute commute to Philadelphia), many restaurants, shops, a movie theatre, a hotel, French bakery, and a sporting goods store to begin the list.
Radnor School District is another outstanding school district. It has and continues to win awards for excellence. There are two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. The Radnor Middle school is just two blocks from "downtown" Wayne.
